Jul 6 2020

Accel International Holdings, Inc., Meriden, Connecticut, will locate a new 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida, at the Tradition Center for Commerce, which is expected to generate 125 new jobs by 2021.  The company is scheduled to break ground later this year on a 10 acre site.  According to Anthony Oh, President and CEO, an overall capital investment of $55 million includes acquiring a total of 40 acres that will allow for adding up to 250,000 sq. ft. of space in the future.

The facility will manufacture Accel's lines of high performance bare copper and copper alloy wire, including value added silver, nickel- and tin-plated products for the aerospace, medical, industrial and telecommunications marketplace.

Accel continues a plan that also includes expansions at other facilities.   According to Oh, the company will finish placing equipment to fill out 175,000 sq. ft. of available space and its facility in Cheshire, Connecticut, and also will add 30,000 sq. ft. at its facility in Avilla, Indiana, increasing its size to 160,000 sq ft.   Founded in 2006, Accel also operates its original 155,000 sq. ft. facility in Meriden, Connecticut.
