Aurora Plastics Expands Lunenberg Facility

Aurora Plastics, Streetsboro, Ohio, recently added production capacity at its Lunenberg, Massachusetts facility, increasing the company's capability to supply specialty compounds to the wire and cable industry.  The investment exceeded $2 million and involved installing a new production line and new lab facilities, as well as adding new personnel to support and deliver new products.  These include the hiring of two new PhD Scientists, three business development managers, a plant manager and production staff. 

"Aurora Plastics now offers a new line of wire and cable compounds that include AuroraFlex(tm) PVC and TPEs, as well as AuroraGuard(tm) halogen-free, and low-smoke compounds as well as flame retardant concentrates.  Our newest compounds feature temperature ratings up to 125ºC, limited oxygen index over 50%, with improved abrasion resistance and the ability to withstand severe cold temperatures," explains Chris Coco, Director of Business Development, Flexible and Specialty Compounds at Aurora Plastics. "Our products can be found in applications that include plenum and riser wire, heat trace cables, transit cable, mining cable, irrigation cable, data room, and many more.  We're excited to have the opportunity to better serve this growing market."
