Monday, June 5, 2017 - SUMMARY OF EVENT

Wethersfield Country Club, Wethersfield, CT

WCMA Members and Invited Guests

Outing Annual "Rain Dance" Worked

WCMA hosted 140 golfers and 10 extra for networking at its annual spring general membership meeting well placed on the Calendar by the Executive Director literally in between two days of rain, of course by plan (we wish!).

At the General membership meeting, Board President, Tom Rosen, Wire & Cable Consulting LLC/Ulbrich Specialty Wire, said the organization continues to grow with 92 members and three more under application.   WCMA continues to provide valuable information resources and networking opportunities to manufacturers of electrical and electronic wire and cable while collaborating fully  with organizations doing the same.

Rosen recognized incoming Board Members, Paul Gemelli, Gem Gravure; Gary Stanitis, Daikin America, and Ron Reed, Lloyd and Bouvier.   Rosen will be suceeded as president by Bob Canny, TE Wire & Cable, in 2018.

WCMA predicts at least matching the $5000 donation to UCONN health center cancer research.  This year the field was slightly smaller, but participant generosity yielded amost $3000 of contributions through the raffle and Silent Auction.  WCMA thanks Fluorgistix (John Rivers), T&T Marketing (Michael Roussell), Arthur J Hurley (Matt Hurley and Krystal Peterson) and Carris Reels (Brian Holden) for Silent Auction contributions, PLUS 32 tee box sponsors.

Carris Reels, hosted the on-course snacks and beverages and presented the annual "Closest to the Cheese" prize to Bob Smith, of Fluorgistx.   Chase Corp. covered the Hole in One competition, W. Gillies Technogies picked up the Long Drive and Closest to the Pin, and James Monroe Wire & Cable covered the Driving Range.   Thanks!
