Henry Finelli Passes

WCMA sadly reports the passing of Henry Finelli, 80, of West Caldwell, New Jersey.   Prior to incurring his recent illness, Finelli had been active as an industry consultant and with Pillar Plastics.   He had been active in Wire Association International, Wire and Cable Industry Suppliers Association, and was a 1999 recipient of the Wire & Cable Manufacturers Alliance Distinguished Career Award.

Finelli spent his entire career in the polymers field, starting first with PPG, then with Allied Signal where he held various sales, marketing, and management positions involved in specialty polyolefins and egineered plastics.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, Finelli is recognized in the wire and cable industry for increasing the presence of  Allied Signal's Halar (R) ECTFE as a material application.  When Ausimont acquied Allied Signal's fluoropolymer business, Finelli became director of sales and marketing, then vice president sales and marketing at Ausimont.

In the mid 1990s Finelli joined Synergistics as director of sales and marketing responsible for the wire and cable industry market for vinykl products.  He continued in that position when Synergistics was acquired by The Geon Company in the late 1990s.

Services were held in late November.  In lieu of flowes, the family asked that donations can be made in his memory to the Missionaries of Charity, Newark Chapter, 168 Sussex Avenue, Newark, NJ 07103.
